PRAYERS & PRAISES

UPDATED 9/21/2023

  • PRAY! Our team is finishing up the Kuyu alphabetǃ We are really excited to begin writing orthographically, which will speed up some of our work as we transcribe audio recordings.

  • PRAY! Morgan’s asthma has continued to degrade while out here in the bush. Our doctor recently said that Morgan can no longer go into any of the Kuyu people’s homes that have fires cooking in them. This is a bummer as people here always come together around a fire because of the cold weather, but we will have to adjust to keep Morgan’s health a priority. In addition to the asthma, the severe rash on her hands continues to come and go. We have tried to eliminate any work involving water from her daily rhythms and this has seemed to keep it at bay.

  • Continued heart preparation for the Kuyu people. As we dig deeper and deeper into their worldview, we are realizing the depth of their lostness. We pray that God would continue to soften hearts and prepare them to hear the Gospel.

  • Our family will be coming home to America on November 17th of this year as part of our standard home assignment rotation. We will be coming up on 4 years spent in PNG, so we will be coming home for 7 months.

  • PRAY: We are still in desperate need of a missionary doctor over here in Papua New Guinea. Would you pray that the Lord would raise up a family willing to serve in this way?

  • PRAY: Pray for more laborers. A neighboring people group (Maia) has brought 4 letters in the last few months requesting missionaries. Who’s going to go to them?
